Spring Training is upon us, which means that the regular season is quickly approaching. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and baseball games are being played. In March every team believes they have a chance. Yes, even the Philadelphia Phillies. Their fan base might not be as hopeful, but every team heads into Spring Training with the goal of winning. It would be silly not to.
People made fun of the Houston Astros last spring when they tweeted that the Taylor Swift concert at their ballpark in October is subject to change if the Astros make the playoffs. People laughed at this. Myself, included.
Guess what happened? Yup, the Astros had to move Taylor Swift’s concert because they made the playoffs.
Sadly, not every team will make the playoffs. And it could be because that one player does not live up to expectations or gets injured. Every team has that one player that they need to produce. He is their x-factor player. Let’s take a look at each American League team’s x-factor player heading into the 2016 season.
