The baseball offseason is here. The time of the year where the leaves are falling and Billy Beane is turning tricks. Famous for his “Moneyball” method, Beane has been one of the best, if not the best, executives in baseball. He has been with the Oakland A’s since 1990, when he joined the team as a scout. Beane was promoted to GM in 1997 and stayed in that position until he was recently promoted to Executive Vice President. If you are a fan of movement, Beane never disappoints. With the A’s considered a small-market team, Beane is constantly turning over his roster to compete with larger market franchises. He knows he is at a disadvantage and needs to stay ahead of the ball to stay competitive.

Last offseason was no different for Beane, as he shipped All-Star (and possible MVP) Josh Donaldson to the Toronto Blue Jays for a package of players. The flurry of moves last offseason did not work out for the A’s as they failed to reach the playoffs and finished with a 68-94 record – the worst in the American League. With this in mind, it appears that the 2015 offseason will be another busy one for Beane and the A’s.
